candleforest.jpgWe didn’t went to the cemeteries to visit our dead. We just stayed home and instead made this Candle Forest as our way of paying respect, prayers and tribute to our departed relatives and friends.

My share of light in this Candle Forest are my prayers dedicated to:

My Paternal Grandparents, Froilan Aguila Gaerlan and Ma. Assuncion Gaerlan Padua-Gaerlan. My father’s Siblings; Engr. Romualdo Padua Gaerlan and his wife Adriana Gaerlan-Gaerlan, Dr. Arturo Padua Gaerlan and his wife Erly G. Gaerlan, and to the rest of the departed members of the Gaerlan and Padua Clan of San Juan, La Union and Metro Manila.

May you find eternal rest. As it was in the beginning, is now, and ever shall be, world without end, Amen

My Maternal Grandparents, Feliciano Kabo Mugot and Gerarda Avrez-Mugot.My mother’s siblings; Bienvenido A. Mugot, Andy A. Mugot, Robert A. Mugot, Erlinda A. Mugot, Engr.Romeo A. Mugot. My maternal first cousin, Bienvenido Mugot, Jr, and to the rest of the departed members of the Mugot-Avrez Clan of Marawi City, Iligan City and Misamis Oriental.

May you find eternal rest. As it was in the beginning, is now, and ever shall be, world without end, Amen

My friends and comrades: Luz Fanlo, Arnulfo “Jerry” Gloria, Nonong G., Ariel, Otik, Tommy, Danny, Edith, Junrey, and the nameless and faceless others who died serving the people.

Sa puso’t ala-ala ng masang inyong pinaglingkuran nakatayo ang inyong bantayog. Mabuhay kayo!

All my departed Brethren in the Order of DeMolay and Sisters in the Order of the Rainbow for Girls and the Order of Jobs Daughters.

All Brother Masons who have dropped their working tools and had joined the Celestial Lodge above.Virtus Junxit Mors Non Separabit.

All those who lie in Unknown Graves. The love all embracing that never can end, In death, as in life, knew you well as a friend. For where you are now bourne, no one is unknown. Rest.

And to all the living, Memento Mori!

Vita brevis breviter in brevi finietur,
Mors venit velociter que neminem veretur,
Omnia mors perimit et nulli miseretur.
Ad mortem festinamus peccare desistamus.

Life is short and shortly it will end
Death comes quicker than you think
It takes everything away, but takes pity on no one
We hasten towards death, we shall restrain from sinning

Ever remembering that we are travelling upon the level of time to that undiscovered country from whose bourne, no traveler returns. Amen. S.M.I.B.
